18month Anniversary of KPL Dream

The idea of a special STEM library for the best of students to visit was inspired by a remarkable musician & humanitarian still performing and actively supporting community improvements in Silverlake & Loz Feliz.

Imagine a dozen or two contemplative students quietly reading large, illustrated, informative books about science subjects that engage their sense of awe & wonder for a few hours. Some use comfortable armchairs in the Shelves zone & the others use floor pillows & bean bags in the Lounge area. Refreshments are in the Atrium.

Guest students are overseen by volunteer parents & a handful of school monitors, just as they would be on any other Field Trip. Students' phones are not allowed to be used and nowhere to be seen. When not focused on the fabulous books they're reading, the students look up to absorb the spectacular panoramic view before their eyes

This vision of a new incredible Knowledge Promotion Location nestled in a hollow on a foothill NW of JPL could be started with relatively little expenditure & effort. The towering kitchen peninsula & cabinetry that currently penetrate the future Shelves area sb removed to make room for additional chairs & desks and mobile island.

The alabaster Heptagon Home, where the library is secured, is the only area accessible to the students.
The registered landmark is where VIPs & visitors wait until the last guest students have left for the day.
The bedrooms of stick & stone are only accessible on guided tours until overnight rentals are allowed.

If you can't imagine #KPL in your imagination, rewatch the video to see its' current underappreciated state.
See future post about promotion of periodic Astronomy Knowledge events & future development phases.

The property's zoned for agricultural use/construction. There are several simple, relatively silent sustainable businesses that could be set up out of sight to make greater use of the parcel's terrain that could employ a handful of locals. The operations would be open to tours by schools while they wait for access to the Library.
A small Multi-Purpose Building would be built down by street for sale of KPL fresh food products to locals.

Some simple recreational facilities beyond bungee cords & rock climbing could be constructed for use by KPL members & special guests. Who wouldn't want to safely slide/ski/sled down a giant 200 ft tall sand dune?

Water features could be created at natural pooling points to collect rain for local fauna. A sizable frog pond could be dredged near natural drainage at low part of parcel for amphibians & fish. Hives would bee in their own zzzone away from people. Bird & bat houses are installed around the compound to eat fireflies & insect pests.

Lots more available when interest warrants by family, friends, followers, fans or famous. Inquiries encouraged

Here's a YT vid about a remarkable man which mentions an unusual problem of being too successful. He's the one who inspired the dream of the #KPL STEM library for the young to visit, in a Garden of Readin' at the edge of civilisation. The dream of #KPL is 18 months old today. Multiple attempts to contact the owner thru his architect and charitable organization were ignored. Months were spent on a concise proposal that outlined how our under appreciated assets could be combined to bring joy, delight & knowledge to thousands of students every year.

Try to imagine a better use for his long unoccupied, diamond in the rough property, passed over due to its' relative isolation, architectural limitations & potential fire hazard. Consider its' cornucopia of possibilities.

"The greater the difficulty, the more the glory in surmounting it." Is a daily affirmation that has sustained the future Man Who Planted Ideas with Leaves, not Seeds since the #KPL architect ignored invitations to lunch at Mixto near his office. Epicure was added to my vocabulary in MS, but knowledge of the school of Epicureanism in an ancient garden below the Parthenon where eudaimonia & hedonism flourished was gained fairly recently.
